DDV Ranch Pictures
As new pictures of the new improved ranch become available, you will see them here.
Our new improved entry:

Below is a view from North of the new Pond looking to the Southeast. The tower in the distance on the right side is a cell tower, so although we are out in the country, we get excellent cell phone reception.

Below you can see how ponds look soon after being dug, while they are soaking in and building a good base clay, which is what is needed to eventually have the pond hold water up to the brim. A week later, we forgot to take pictures, there was far more water in it. After we have a few more good soaking rains, the pond should be pretty full. The view here is almost due South from where I was standing. To my back is one of three decent hay fields.
Finally after some rain, the pond is filling up:

This is a view to the Southwest from where I was standing. As you can see by the sunlight, it was nearly sunset at the time I shot this picture. It was also taken shortly after I finished shredding (mowing) the field around that area. The dark ridge dead center is the dam of our smallest pond.

A view to the East, see all of the weeds around the property. There is also a very large downed tree in front of the weeds, so I guess I will have some firewood once I take the chainsaw out there to cut it up.

Here you can see the before and after pictures from the shredding activities. The areas that look like tire tracks in the middle are tracks, aka our road to the shed, and on the right of the picture is tall grass and lots of weeds. Again, this is an old picture, as I am nearly finished shredding now. The view is to the Northeast and has changed as our neighbor's house was framed recently.

A view to the Northwest looking at some trees on the East side of the big Hay Field. That Hay field is about 20 acres. The area near the trees is one of my personal favorite sites for adding a house. There are great views to in pretty much all directions. The crest of the hill we are on is a ranch to the West of ours, so we mainly see their field and sky when looking that direction.
